Speak Your Truth: A Three Day Buko Feast(Supposedly)

Do you have always wanted to have a lighter, more vibrant and healthier life?

I've always heard about people who fast for a few days, weeks and even months.

I've always wanted to do one as well..

I remember back in Bahay Kalipay, they encourage us to have this Silent Buko Day every Thursday, and when I've tried it for the first time, I was able to do it..i was confident i could do it..Not until I went to Church and found myself really hungry and ate two local bananas and a vegetarian meal afterwards.

Well my friends, that is the end of my amazing One Day Buko Feast Story.

LOL.

And so, I've decided to take on the challenge once again. This time, for three days. :)

BUKO FEAST PROTOCOL:

What to Eat During My Feast:

  • Lots of Coconut Meat, Coconut Water
  • Lemon Infused Water with Cayenne Pepper
  • Smooth Move Tea every evening

EXERCISE would be at least 30 minutes of CARDIO, PILATES & STRENGTH TRAINING in the morning.

WEIGHT TRAINING IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

YIN YOGA AND MEDITATION PRACTICE (evening) as well.

DAY 1 of my COCONUT FEAST

I've set my intention for this 3 Day Coconut Feast. For the past few weeks, I've undergone a few changes especially in my daily routine as I have started to work in the Publishing industry.

I can say that the #Daily Grind ( talk about commute, air pollution and the exposure to radiation, plus the minimal time I have for my afternoon yoga) has greatly affected my lifestyle especially the food choices that I make.

Here's a compassionately delicious tip for fellow office workers! :)

Bring your baon to work! :D Not only does it saves you time and a lot of money, it simplifies your life as well cause you don't have to think of what to eat for lunch, right? :)

Now..

Going back to lots of coconuts! Haha!

It's 4 PM today and so far I've eaten 3 regular sized coconuts!!!! I ate one after my morning workout at around 9 AM, then I felt a bit dizzy and had to drink some more buko juice at around 11 AM.

I felt "THE HUNGER" (but this ain't a Hunger Game ;) )at around 12 NN and ate 1 serving of coconut meat and oh the relief I felt!!! :DDD Like seriously!!!

Am I giving you too much information? Haha! Just want to let you know that as much of this is a blog, I consider it as my Personal Health and Wellness Diary as well, thus the detail! :D

I just had my third buko for the day and I feel so light right now unlike when I eat other processed stuff. I've set my intention of giving my body a rest so the energy it uses for digestion would be used for healing and eliminating toxins from my body as well. :)

Just so you know, I have my fourth buko ON STAND BY just in case I feel some hunger pangs, I won't grab the nearest oatmeal and nut bar in stores. LOL. I believe in things like this, discipline, determination and preparation are keys to be able to stick and walk your intention. :)

To wrap it all up, Day 1, I almost did it hahahahah!

Almost.

Just because I believe in doing things with integrity all the time and as my personal health and wellness journal as well, I would like to be honest, detailed and transparent as much as possible.

Hahahaha!

I ate one teeny tiny buchi.

I know. Don't laugh okay? :) hahahah!

Well, what can i say?I was tempted.

DAY 2 - BUKO DAY

That teeny tiny buchi did not stop me from continuing my Buko Feast! :D

Perseverance and Determination definitely pays off.

I'm writing this entry as I'm on the third day of my Coconut Feast and remembering from yesterday, I had 1 buko juice for breakfast with meat..then at lunch, for some reason, i was craving for something hot and savoury..though I really did not feel so hungry, there was just this craving...

Guess what I did next? :)

And so, during our office lunch break, I headed on the nearest place I know I could get a soup! I went to Chowking and got this Wonton Soup to satisfy the craving. It was a teeny tiny soup, though it felt like it occupied my whole tummy.

Oh the effects of only having coconut even just for a day is really UH-MAZIING !!!

"One of the most important realizations that I have from this experience is that our bodies really don't need A LOT OF FOOD, what our bodies need is proper nourishment, care and lots of Self Love. "

That's why if you feel sluggish and lack a bit of clarity with your everyday life, I suggest you try limiting your food intake and/or choosing more whole foods in your daily meals. It would help you in ways you wouldn't imagine. Believe me on this. :)

DAY 3 OF COCONUT FEAST

As I venture on the supposedly last day of my coconut feast, I have already drank and eaten 2 full coconuts for the whole day and sneaked in 1 whole avocado after lunch.

I may have little cheats, namely the buchi, the soup and the avocado, but 95% of what I took in for three days are nature's gift in the form of coconuts. I felt very light and nourished, and realized that the past few weeks of eating "unhealthy stuff" was just mostly cravings..Cravings that may have come from emotions that I somewhat did not express fully..thoughts that weren't spoken out and circumstances that haven't been fully accepted and let go of...

What our bodies need is nourishment. There's nothing wrong with having a slice of cake or two for some time, but I believe that what we should mindfully practice is to keep on making that healthier choice for ourselves - whether that be in your food, your relationships, your work and the things that you focus yourself into.

Cause it is never too late to take care of yourself.

Make sure you make THAT choice today, the day after, and the days of your beautiful life.

XOXO,
