Juicing on The Go: And So I Gave IN

Let’s just say that I’m having days when I seriously, seriously need a break.

I’ve started a new chapter in my life, (YAAAAAAY! :D) and have now decided to let go of wanting to control everything. Last year was just really a fun, exciting and a passionate affair for me as I’ve pursued my love for food, working at different kitchens, learned from really good chefs and really really expanded my knowledge and hunger to try different cuisines, flavors..aaahhhh..like what I always say, it will always be my first love.

Things changed a bit and I had to make a decision to work in a different field which brings me to where I am now. Obviously.  Here in front of a computer, writing, working, juggling.  I call it my #DailyHustle.

What’s yours? ;)

I’m grateful to be able to get a job that allows so much flexibility that I still get to write this post now while I’m at work. ;) Oh the perks you may say! It’s just that I believe that I’m currently in an adjustment phase cause I’m used to working at a very fast paced environment... standing for long hours, with kitchen stoves burning in front of me.

Oh Good Gracious, I miss that Sautee station at The Wholesome Kitchen!

Now I guess you’re wondering, what about the green juices, Missy? :)

Well, the adjustment phase that I’m on right now also affects my health in certain ways and I just feel like with all these happening, I would greatly benefit with a gentle juice cleanse.

I mean, I’ve always been a huge fan of green juices, smoothies and all those veg and fruit drinks and have experimented on many delicious combinations for myself and my family as well.

Check these out! :D

And it’s only now that I’ve really considered ordering from a local juice company that sells such.
I mean, I’m very happy that I’ve finally made the decision to do so ,(though I know that in the future, I would definitely prefer to make my own nourishing green juices ) and yes, for now, let me enjoy the pleasures and convenience of having them delivered rather than making them. Just for today.

If you want to try a juice cleanse, here are some things that I did that works for me as of the moment.

1.       Love yourself enough to feel the nourishing and cleansing benefits of Raw Juices.

Yes. You must love yourself enough that you are very much aware of what you put into your body, so keep loving yourself much more..and keep on nourishing yourself with good stuff. Know that you are doing this to give your body a gentle cleanse, and feel it..breathe right through it.

2.       Do some gentle yoga practice in the morning, anything that makes you move, but don’t overdo it.

You don’t want to physically exhaust yourself while doing a cleanse as it may tempt you to deviate from your goal. J  PS I did a few Yin Yoga poses earlier this morning before going to work. J

3.       Mediate, breathe and set your intention for the day.
This one I believe is very important cause for the past few months, I’ve attempted to do a juice cleanse, and at the end of the day, I always give in to temptations. I know. Haha! I remember Bahay Kalipay also has this Coconut (Buko) Feast every Thursday wherein you’re only allowed coconuts for the whole day..and again, because I did not set out my intentions straight and clear, I gave in and ate two bananas and a vegetarian meal for dinner. J Still a happy kid though! But now, I’ve learned my lesson. And as I’m writing this, I’m happy to say that I just had the Oh Malunggay Juice  and am looking forward to my other two juices for the day! YAY!

OH MY MALUNGGAY

Not the actual photo of the juice.

This one says it has moringa, kale, apple and pineapple in it. Flavor wise, it’s okay and it does make me feel surprisingly full for lunch. J It’s my first time to try other people’s green juice for that matter and I may be biased, hahah! I love my Pineapple, Apple, Ginger and Kangkong with Lemon Combinations more! Hahaha! Peace out my loves! I have yet to try their Veggie Galore and their Aloha Bliss!

VEGGIE GALORE

Not the actual photo of the juice, I just wanted to show how RED it is. Please continue reading to know why. Teehee!

This is VERY, VERY INTERESTING.

This has kale, scallion, carrot, celery, garlic, spinach, cabbage and beets on it! I'm so glad I decided to try this one cause it's the first time I've tried something with beets and scallions and not to mention, GARLIC on a green juice!!! A very mild taste, not so sweet, not salty even but there's that distinct taste of garlic that made this drink quite interesting, I may say.

Oh, and I just love how RED it was so i honestly felt like drinking so much goodness into my body, not mentioning how I notice my cheeks turned red as well. LOL. I'm just kidding. Haha!

ALOHA BLISS

Again, not the actual photo :)

I like this one and I can say that by far, it is my favorite drink of all three. This has Papaya, Cucumber, Apple and Pineapple.. :) it has the subtlest sweetness and it was just what I needed at 5 PM here at work. YAAAAY! Just two more hours and i'm back at my cozy, comfortable mat..lying and enjoying savasanas, frogs and dragons. LOL. :)

Now that I drank some more, I noticed a hint of citrus flavor from the pineapple. :) Nonetheless, I am loving my Aloha Bliss juice right now! <3

So you may ask, will I recommend doing it?

Well...yes ofcourse! :)

I'm even thinking of regularly doing it at least once a week as a means of replenishing my body with essential minerals and nutrients, and at the same time, minimizing my organ's workload by not ingesting something solid, thus making them concentrate more on flushing toxins away and nourishing my beautiful, healthy cells at the same time! I'll definitely try other juice companies as well to expand my knowledge and palette on all delicious juices out there so I could create a well balanced, compassionately delicious personalized juice cleanse menu too! :))))

As I am writing this, I feel so good about my body right now. :) I don't feel hungry at all, well ofcourse the "cravings" are there but now I can really say that I'm so proud of myself for committing and sticking this far. It really helps when you set an intention and know the reason behind that good intention.

YAY!

Cheers to a healthy and a happy life!
