Pastry Musings Part 2: When Words Fail to Express What I Feel, I Create

Welcome to the 2nd part of my Pastry Musings! :)

I bet you've read the first part, well just in case you haven't, you can read it in just one click here.

Are there ever times in your life when you suddenly feel a burst of joy that you just can't contain such feeling, nor even put them into words, that you just start moving, you start creating something, not for yourself...but for other people whom you want to share that joy? Or maybe even happiness, excitement..love? Which I believe is the most powerful and moving force that there is.

Whenever I receive something that is handmade - whether that be a letter, an arts & craft thing like a stationery or a painting ..basically anything that is made from scratch.. - I could honestly feel that person's energy from it..I mean, I could feel the goodness, the effort and the love that is put into making it..cause I know that creating something is an act of love itself..

This is one of the first cakes that I made when I was just starting out and discovering my passion for pastry..I remember being so excited about this heart shaped mold, thinking of stuff that I could create from it, like the cake that you could see above.

It's a chocolate cake with a chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate chips. To say that I love chocolates would be an understatement. A huge one I may say. ;) I remember creating this out of spontaneity, feeling that surge of love and finding myself mixing flours, baking cakes and the best part? tasting the frosting while decorating the cake..it's something that I do, just like what the title of the post says...when my words fail to express what I feel. I create.

This is a birthday cake requested by a good friend of mine. Layers of chocolate, graham and marshmallow. Your classic Smores Cake ;)

A cake inspired by my brief yet substantial stint with this Chef who's very famous for his Cheesecakes. I bet you know him! Oh and ofcourse, my interest in using natural ingredients such as those kiwis and mangoes started to uncover during these times. :)

I'm such a huge fan of fruit tarts and it's something that I really want to improve on right now. I have this uber favorite that I will never ever forget and oh myyy I'm craving for it now! Do you know this infamous blueberry cheesecake tarts that Rowena's sell in Tagaytay? Oh myyy! It's been centuries since I've eaten those!

I remember finishing a box of 6 in just one sitting while doing my research paper for our Political Science class! Call it stress eating, or not cause it was just so good! And I'm definitely creating my own version of it. <3 Ya better watch out! :D

For the meantime, here's some more stuff that I created out of some good old lovin'!

Mom's Birthday Carrot Pineapple Cake!

A Butterscotch Blonde Brownie Cake I made for my cousin, Aaron back in LA a few years ago!

This is a "Mom, I'm sorry I know you love chocolate so here you go" cake.

Cause sometimes, saying sorry ain't enough. You gotta do something too you know. ;)

And when you feel grateful, bake "Gratitude Cupcakes"!

These are Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes I baked for my fellow churchmates back in LA. I miss them!!! Know more about them here

So yeah, it slowly became a creative outlet for me to express emotions that I feel like translating into something..into something..well cupcakes! Haha! I know you get what I mean. ;) Feel free to message me at adao.princess@gmail.com or visit my FB page: Pastry Princess if you want to inquire about certain stuff like recipes or you just want to say hi or even want to share stuff. Why not, right?

Hope you learned a thing or two and probably find an outlet for you to express yourself as well! :)

Keep posted for the next part of my Pastry Musings guys!

Love & light,

Princess
