Morning Flush Routine To Start Your Day Right

Are you the type who instantly checks messages, emails and even notifications the moment you wake up?

Believe me. I’ve been there. And yes, I’ve done all those.

Let me ask you, do YOU feel happy, centered and grounded for most part of the day especially whenever you see posts that seem to make you sad?

I mean, these are things that we totally don’t have control over – other people’s profile statuses, their tweets, news feeds of our favorite websites…

Totally, no control over these.

So what is it that’s within our reach? What is that one thing that we have control over?

It’s ourselves

Our mind..our thoughts to be more specific, which obviously directly affect our emotional and physical states.
On a lighter note, this brings us to a morning flush routine that I’ve learned during my stay at Bahay Kalipay in Palawan wherein it focuses on cleansing the whole body of all toxins so it could absorb more positive prana(energy) from the environment. And as they say, if we free ourselves from toxins, whether that be physical, mental and emotional, we become happier, lighter and have more clarity with our thoughts and a more intentional way of being. Which is why I’m totally, totally excited to share this with you. I mean, it may not be of a big deal but these little things really helped me a lot in order to find that peace within amidst the external environment that I live in. So I really hope that you give it a try and hope that it works wonders as it did in my life.

Every morning, we have this little corner at BK wherein we’re encouraged to take a tall glass of warm water upon waking up. After which, I was introduced to a practice called oil pulling – a method of cleaning your mouth of all impurities with taking two to three teaspoons of oil(preferably virgin coconut oil) and swishing it for 15- 20 minutes. I seriously love the part wherein we’re asked to spit the oil in the garden. I honestly don’t know why. But maybe it’s that “spitting” part that makes me giddy cause it’s somehow seen as a different thing in the city, and at Bahay Kalipay (http://bahaykalipay.com/ ) it’s encouraged to be done In the garden. Oh well. I love BK, what can I say. ;)

Not only scientists would say, even your grandmother would and I bet my life on it that drinking water is the best thing that you could do for your health. That’s why after oil pulling therapy, another tall glass of warm water with either calamansi, salt or even ginger slices is very much encouraged as it hydrates ( DUH Princess, obviously it’s water.Haha) and at the same time, keeps our teeny tiny organs do their own thing to keep us in top shape. I mean, you have to put lots of love into your body, it’ your temple, as what YogiNick would usually sayNick is my favorite yoga teacher so far. :D Hi Nick, I seriously seriously miss your tridosha series. Please come to Manila. LOL.

Oh and by the way, we’re very fortunate at Bahay Kalipay cause there’s a yoga class every 7 am so that’s just the perfect way to follow through your morning flush routine. Something to get you moving. Get those muscles and bones working. So if you have a mat, start having that daily practice. You’ll thank yourself for it.

And oh, did I mention the part that I look forward to the most ever single morning?

With such a huge appetite for a healthy and happy lifestyle, my appetite for whole, good and nourishing food would never allow itself to be left behind. LOL.

BREAKFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST

.

Glorious, glorious breakfast

And yes, that’s an important part of your morning routine that you definitely don’t want to miss.

I could clearly remember our buffet spread of fruits( papaya, bananas and mangoes ) back at Bahay Kalipay.

That Chocolate Sauce.

That Coconut Orange Cream..

Oh that…

And how will I ever forget?

The nut milks! Yes those freshly made nut milks that are either mixed with coconut nectar, cacao – and they taste really good by themselves alone as well!

So that’s one thing that I really recommend, a healthy breakfast after that morning walk/run/yoga to set your mood and your senses into powering up for the whole day.

It could be a breakfast bowl of fruits, your favorite oatmeal porridge (here’s mine if you want to try it out), or even some gluten free toast with all natural peanut butter and homemade jelly..

Your options are boundless. And you should always choose what works best for you.

Because at the end of the day...

It’s your life.

It’s your body.

And yes, you always have a choice. So do yourself a favor, and choose well. ;)
