A Saturday Afternoon of Food x Fun Conversations with The FatKid
FOOD.
Something that's sooo normal in our daily lives, that sometimes, we tend to think of it as just something that we need to survive.(WELL IT IS TRUE. WE NEED SOMETHING TO FUEL OUR BODIES..BUT STILL...) And in the process, we fail to see how it contributes to making our lives
A WHOOOOOLE LOOOOOT BETTER.
YES.
I MEAN...
I MEAN...
When was the last time you've appreciated food that was served in front of you? Have you ever given a thought on how it actually brings people together for
A GOOD MEAL LIKE THIS ONE!!! :DDD

LAUGHTER...
Meet Ms. Joanne of Oster Kitchens! :D Look oh, she's so happy frying those Lemon Grass Chicken Thigh! HAHAHAAHHAHA!
Super thank you for picking our entries for Oster Kitchen's cooking day with The Fat Kid! :DDD
how it
actually creates friendships just by knowing that you share
the same passion with quite wonderfully unique people,
how it
strengthens ties within a family....

(OH YES, BELIEVE ME IT DOES!)
and how it makes
LIFE SO MUCH
BETTER…
Come to
think of it. All those festive gatherings that you go to during barrio fiestas, how Christmas & New
Year feel so incomplete without the Noche
Buena & the Media Noche tradition,
Or just quickly
recall how you celebrated your birthday…

Super Kap Kun Ka to my Thai family at the Embassy. I've never expected such warm gesture from them I sweaaaar! And ofcouurse, the food and the SURPRISE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL CAKE! #MAJOR SWEET TOOTH ATTACK X MAJOR CRAY
As a laboratory scientist would phrase it, “What is that one constant thing in the equation?”(or should I say, constant in those events?)
Guess I need not say it.

Kid Inside’s blog….
I did not hesitate to give it a try. :D
Being REALLY REALLY FAT before, I’ve always been in the constant lookout for inspiration when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle and I know it would be wonderful not only to learn from The Fat Kid himself, but also to be with people who share the same passion with REAL GOOD FOOD.
You can check The Fat Kid Inside's blog here for a loooot of healthy and fatty recipes(HAHAHAH) , fitness tips and a whole lot more! Check it out for yourself guys! :D
Okay, I know you guys have been waiting for this! HAHAHA! Enough of all my sentimental thoughts and profound love for food!

& the other Fat Kids Inside as well! :DDD
Hi Ms. Rosal, Ged, Ms. Joanne and

It was such a breeze to meet all of these wonderful people! Not only we get to talk and share experiences, we also got to get our hands chopping, cooking and ofcourse eaaaatiiing(WHICH I THINK IS THE BEST PART BTW!)
And this brings us to the next part! :D
PART II:
Cooking and
Fun
Conversations
with the Fat
Kid
Behold the
Mayan
superfood!!!
QUINOAAAAAA!!!
Who doesn't loooove zucchiniiiiiiis? I never ate it raw before but The Fat Kid Inside made this super simple "Zucchini Fix" wherein he super thinly sliced it, drizzled it with olive oil, some salt and A LOT OF pepper to taste(HAHA, right guys?), and some lemon juice for that tangy flavor!
TRY IT GUYS I SWEAAAR!!! It tastes super HEALTHYY!
Well ZUCCHINIS ARE HEALTHY TO BEGIN WITH, PRINCESS. DUH.
*laughs
FAT KID INSIDE IN ACTION!
Care for some CHOP CHOP VEGETABLES? ;)
NOW I'M HUNGRYYYYY!!! |
SEE THAT HOLE IN THAT STIR FRIED CHICKEN? :D
Never did it cross my mind.
EVER.
OH DID IT?
OH.
NEVER.
Well, until that day. HAHAH. I didn't know that we could actually make chicken skewers using lemongrass(tanglad).
And I swear guys! You should try this super simple method and you'll get STELLAR-LIKE RESTAURANT RESULTS!
or even a Michelin star, perhaps? ;) HAHA.
Aside from that Lemon grass Chicken Skewer thing, we also got to PUREE some sweet potatoes, some
butternut squash for the soup, and prepare a quinoa salsa for those much needed “rice” fix. :D
And speaking about PUREES…oh I guess I’d rather not.
HAHAH! Well, hello there fellow Fat Kids! I know you get what I mean there.
HAHA.
And after tireless hours of preparing and cooking food with
them awesome people(YES, TIRELESS. I HONESTLY CAN’T FIND ANY OTHER WORD. HAHA.)
I think it’s just about time to
move to the
BEST PART EVER!
PART III: Feeding The Fat Kids(INSIDE)
Nothing beats a home cooked meal. And with our case, it's still home cooked in the heart of Oster's Siematic Kitchen.
LOL.
I hope I pretty much made sense on that previous statement.
KITCHEN CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FAT KID X OSTER DINNER TABLE SET UP(so adorbs by the way!)
I MEAN SERIOUSLY, LOOK AT THOSE BELL PEPPERS.
THEY'RE JUST TOO PRETTYYYYYYYYY!!!
To start of, here's the
SQUASH SOUP WITH A SURPRISE QUINOA SALSA!!! <3
SUCH A HEARTYYY AND A FILLING SOOUP! YUMMYYY!!!
TAAAAA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Lemon Grass Chicken Stir Fry with Sweet Potato Puree and Chop Chop Veggies on the side!
I can seriously have this for lunch everyday! Only if we can cook in the office pantryyy!!! Work would be so much FUUUN!!!
NAH for these Frozen BANAH-NAHS.
AN IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER:
NO MATTER HOW FULL YOU ARE. THERE IS ALWAYS, ALWAYS, A ROOM FOR DESSERT.
I guess the Almond Banana Ice Cream was just so gooooood that we instantly digged in the moment, Erwann, aka The Fat Kid finished making them.
Which explains why this is the only photo that I have of it. HAHA.
MINUS the cinnamon, agave & macadami nuts for that much needed crunch! :D
HAHAHA. Sounds good, yea? :D Well IT IS GOOOD! It tastes so good that I had to make some for my family the next day! HAHA.
Oh, I wonder how many times I've used good in that.
It's really goooood guys, you have to try it. HAHA
Just freeze some bananas, grab some almond milk(or whatever non dairy milk that you have), some coconut cream...
Put them all in a mixer/blender/pulser or whatever tool you have in your kitchen and
VOILAAAAA!!!
You just got yourself a SUPER HEALTHY TREAT! <3
Thanks for sharing such wonderful recipes, tips and such interesting life experiences that you have Fat Kid! :D I know I've said this a lot, a million times perhaps, but
you truly are an inspiration! :D
