What Yin Yoga Has Taught Me About Healing

 Source

Surrender to the pose.

Breathe.

Feel.

These are things that our Yin Yoga teacher, Jayme, kept on telling us awhile ago during our practice. Ofcourse, yoga is life. Yoga is breath. Yoga is all about surrendering to the present moment, to your body..to whatever extent the pose brings you in and letting it all go. Well, for me that is yoga and I believe that it is different for all of us..and that of which makes it special in its own way because each and everyone of us goes through different phases in life, varied experiences, dreams, passion, and emotions..

And as such, yoga guides us to connect more with our deeper Selves, to connect more with our bodies, and more than that, to realize our true Path..

Our Yin Yoga practice tonight has taught me things that I want to share with you, and I would really love to hear your thoughts about it, whether you have been a regular practitioner of Yin, or have tried it a few times, or even wants to be a Yin Yoga Teacher ( maybe we could work this out together? yea? :D ..

I've learned that most of the physical pain that we feel, from our joints, to issues we have with our bodies, are stuff that has accumulated on a deeper, emotional and mental level. It just so happened that it was not properly addressed and manifested on the physical plane.

Let me cite a quite obvious example..

Remember that time when you held so much anger in your heart, or even when you broke up with your partner? Do you remember feeling so much pain in your heart..that you feel like gasping out of air and just wanted to burst? Painful, isn't it?

I'm not that much of a Yin Yoga expert so I'm leaving the deeper explanation to teachers, but just so you have an idea..

So the next time you feel discomfort, tune in more with your emotions, with your thoughts about yourself..about others..it may be coming from that and it's getting your attention about it..

Listen more to your heart..

And just what like Jayme said awhile ago, when you start to be more aware of yourself, your actions towards yourself and others..and realize how it's all connected and how it affects your whole Being..

and affirm the lessons you've learned from such..transformation is eventually going to happen..

And quoting her,

"And you'll have more time to be who you're meant to be."

Namaste. Sending love and light! :*

PS

I hope this is not too serious for you. Let me know! :)
