Day 15 of 340 Day Pastry Project:: Cuisine as an Act of Love

When I was still staging at Shine Bakery & Cafe, one of the pastry chefs shared this story about a girl, who apparently baked something when she was depressed after breaking up with his boyfriend.

Well.

Talk about break ups...

an Ex - Boyfriend......

and feelings....

lots of it....

And unsurprisingly, the red velvet cake that she made tasted bitter.

Not that I intended something bad when I said the word bitter. But it just proves the fact that our thoughts, emotions and feelings play a major role whenever we cook & bake.. :D

Apparently, when we were browsing the book, The Flavor Bible, we stumbled upon this quote and we couldn't help but strongly agree with Chef Chapel...

You have to love what you do and most especially the people you're doing it for...

Creating(whether that is through cooking or baking) something out of nothing requires love, passion and commitment...

You know a good dish/dessert when you taste one. :)

And that one's definitely baked with love. <3

With lotsa rainbow sprinkles,
