Ironically Sweet & Healthy: Baked and RawED
Want to live happier, healthier and stronger?
You might want to consider incorporating more raw food in your diet.
I KNOW.
RAW.
Doesn't sound so enticing as a CROUGHNUT right? hahaha.
Well, don't you worry. ;) I'm not here to advocate a 100% RAW FOOD DIET cause as you may have known and if you have been reading my previous posts, I have an undying.....undying love for everything sweet. :D
"Ugh. I don't like chocolate chip cookies. "
- said NO ONE EVER. :D
That's why we aim for balance. And I guess it's what we need to stay sane in every aspect of our lives - a sense of balance. :D And to be able to achieve that, one should start with slow, gradual changes - be it with your eating habits, lifestyle changes, or even pursuing your dreams. One has to start from somewhere.
Just a few days ago, I've made a decision and I'm more than determined to stay committed with it whatever it takes to pursue my ultimate dream in life. :) Soon, you'll know and ofcourse, it has something to do with my Pastry Dreams in life. :D And in my quest to pursue it, I aim to achieve balance, specifically when it comes to the food that I eat. :D
Let me share with you a few tips that I got a few weeks ago from this amazing Raw Food Chef that I've met and hopefully meet in person one day, on how to slowly transition to a raw food diet. :D
Then again, it's your decision on how you'd like to go though it. But if you'll ask me, I've just got three brief words for you.
Take
IT
Slow.
Here we go! :D
Let me introduce to you Chef Boris of b.alive.org :D
He's an independent and a certified raw food chef based on Germany and has been traveling around the world to spread the rawsome goodness. :DDD
You can know more about him here guys.

Now let me share with you his exact words when I asked him tips on how to transition to a raw food diet. :D
1. As for transitioning: I recommend to start including green smoothies and green juices as much as you can into your daily diet. You can start with green smoothies and slowly have less of the heavier breakfast foods until you have only green smoothies or a green smoothie with some fresh fruit in the morning!
Made these green smoothies a few weeks ago and I swear by the Spinach, Cucumber, Orange, Celery combination as my base and you can just add whatever fruit that you like in your smoothie/juice. It's up to you guys but I really recommend that you put more greens than fruits. HAHA. You don't want to overload your body with too much, right? :)

This one's going to make you full for longer hours(well in my case it does) because of the bananas. I swear. Even just eating one especially the saba version makes me burp like crazy.
2. Chia is also a great breakfast food if you crave for something more substantial.
Oh, what can I say about CHIA? I just love it!
JELLY POWER TO THE MAX! :D
3. Then, start including more veggies with every meal and slowly reduce carbs from rice or white flower, and meat and dairy to the point where these things are side dishes and veggies (cooked or as salad) are your main bulk of the meal.
Whenever I don't have time to cook my lunch, this would be my super duper quick fix. :D Romaine, tomatoes, zucchinis - then sprinkle them with some pepper, chili flakes, a few drops of lemon juice and your protein of your choice. :D
VOILA!
LUNCH IS SERVED! :D
4. Replace processed carbs with more whole grains and especially pseudo grains like millet, quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat.
NO EXPLANATION NEEDED.
GO WHOLE GRAIN OR JUST GO HOME.
LOL. That was a bit harsh. HAHA.
5. Then slowly increase the raw elements, i.e. transition to more and more salad especially for lunch since it will keep your energy up during the day!
Veggies, veggies, veggies...need I say more, veggies? ;)
And lastly he said, I think with these simple things you can already achieve a lot!
Ofcourse, it's WAY WAY EASIER WRITTEN AND SAID THAN DONE.
My sweet tooth drives me crazy sometimes guys. Like literally crazy that I think I could eat two whole chocolate almond croissants from the newly opened Paul Bakery. But I won't. It's just in my mind though. HAHA. I'm in that stage wherein I'm feeling and trying to become more aware of my body - listening to my body and really know what it needs.
So whenever that crazy craving hits, I just take a bite or two...
OKAY. I must admit. OR THREE sometimes.
*giggles
Cause sweets and pastries ARE FORMIDABLE components in my journey to eating healthy. They're part of who I am and who I want to be. And I insanely love the fact that I'm continuously being pulled apart by extreme ends - my passion for baking(and eating) everything sweet and living a healthy life - which makes achieving that balance so much painfully sweeter. :)

Glad to run into your blog, Princess! :) One of my goals this year is to eat more raw and organic food! Do you use a blender or juicer for your juices? :D I'm totally new to DIY juicing! I just do it the easy way -- order! haha!
