Laduree Macarons: A Taste of French in the Lion City, A Pastry Princess Quest Singapore Edition
It was like a fairy tale.
A Real Life Fairy Tale with a Sweet,Wonderful Ending, that is.
Colorful boxes of teas, chocolates, pralines...and ofcourse, macarons, brightened up the place.
I felt like Alice, though in a slightly
different Wonderland -
a Pastry Wonderland.
Pinks, pastels, light, colorful shades of cotton candy - this is definitely one those places that you would most likely visit when you're feeling under the weather, or when you just feel like having something sweet but don't want to overindulge.
Well, just make sure you don't eat a whole box of 15.
or THIRTY.
You'll be fine. ;)
I dunno. There's just a certain fascination that I have with these petite almond crispy cookies that my heart just literally melts on their sight. I can clearly remember the FIRST EVER AUTHENTIC FRENCH MACARON that I've tasted from one of Paul's bakery in Lille, France. :D A HUGE HUGE COCO -CHOCOLATE MACARON..oh how I love everything with chocolate!!!!
It was not too sweet especially the ganache for the macaron filling...and the macaron shells, OH MYYY!!!

Crunchy crispy goodness on the outside and oh-so chewy & moist on the inside! I may have yet to try Pierre Herme (now dreaming of a Parisian getawaaaaaay!), though for now, let's talk about Laduree. :D
It was actually my brother who really really wanted to go here. HAHA. Can you believe it guys? Right after we had a scrumptious croissant breakfast at Maison Kayser, we headed straight to look for Laduree's macaron shop and had some for a mid morning snack.
HAHA. I just remembered, after buying a box, we told ourselves, "Ayan ha, we'll eat this as our dessert during lunch time." And just a few minutes after walking to buy my little sister's toys, we found ourselves munching on every flavor we could dig in from the box. HAHA.
In Filipino slang nowadays,
ANYAAREEEEE???
We're a bunch of crazy & happy & sweet people indeed! :D

I had salted caramel (MY FAVOOOORIIIITE!!!),
pistachiooo (my SECOND FAVOOORIIIITE),
chocolate ghanaaa ( my THIRD FAVOOORIIITE),
vanilla (my FOURTH FAVOOORIITE),
Chocolate Venezuela (my FIFTH FAVOORIITE)!!!
OK, I know it's a bit annoying if I continue writing all the flavours that I've tried. HAHA. So I'll stop.
But at least I've given you guys a heads up on their best tasting macarons!
*winks
Sweetness overload is definitely an understatement for our first day on our Pastry Princess Quest in Singapore!
DEFINITELY.
AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
I guess, at the end of the day, the most important thing is how we feel inside. :) I know, they're jam packed with sugar and everything but it's nice to loosen up once in a while and enjoy life's sweetest things. But that doesn't mean that I'm giving up my mission to bring sweet smiles through my healthy & home baked sweets!
After all, I'll forever be your Pastry Princess whether you like it or not. ;)
